The End Of A Decade Of Stargate SG-1...
Stargate SG-1 has run proud and strong for 10 years and up till now has been one of the longest running Sci-Fi shows ever! But now to much displeasure of a lot of its fans it has finally come to an end. The Sci-Fi Network cancelled the show earlier this year and the final episode "Unending" aired in the UK on the 13th March and later in the US on 22nd June. It had a long run and a great one and has shaped the lives of many of us. However SG-1 will not stop there, It is set to continue as a series of movies with "The Ark of Truth" and "Continuum" which should go directly to DVD some time next year, and it is hoped the revenue from their sales as DVDs will allow more Stargate SG-1 movies to be made.
The Stargate Franchise wont stop either since a brand new Stargate series is currently in developemnt at the moment and will venture into the ninth chevron of the stargate and will expand the Stargate Franchise even further! As well Stargate Atlantis is set to continue and has been renewed for a fourth season by Sci-Fi and will premiere on the US Sci-Fi channel on the 28th of September 2007 with the episode "Adrift". Stargate SG-1 may not be a series any longer but the Gate will not be closing just yet! So stay tuned! |

| R.I.P. Don S. Davis: 1942-2008
|
|
 I know its been a while since any news has been posted but i had to post this...
It is with great sadness that i announce on the 29th of June 2008 Don S. Davis pass away from a heart attack.
The following message was provided by a representative of his family and his wife, Ruby Fleming-Davis:
Dear Fans and Friends of Don S. Davis,
So many of you have been touched by not only the work and art of Don S. Davis, but by the man himself, who always took the time to be with you at the appearances he loved, that it is with a tremendous sense of loss I must share with you that Don passed away from a massive heart attack on Sunday morning, June 29th.
On behalf of his family and wife, Ruby, we thank you for your prayers and condolences. A family memorial where Don's ashes will be scattered in the ocean will take place in a few weeks, and should you wish to, please make a donation to the American Heart Association in Don's memory.

It is with a heavy heart I report to you the death of my favourite General on SG-1, (General George Hammond)...Don S. Davis
on June 29th 2008 of a massive heart attack
He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and his thousands of fans world wide.
My condolences go to his family friends and his fans.

| Robert Picardo joins the cast of Atlantis
|
|
 Actor Robert Picardo is set to join the Stargate Atlantis cast as Richard Woolsey for an estimated 14 episodes in season 5.
It has bee rumoured that Picardo’s character Richard Woolsey will take over as the commander of the Atlantis expedition, after the departure of Amanda Tapping (Samantha Carter) who is leaving the show to concentrate on her new show Sanctuary.

| David Hewlett Expecting Baby Hewlett!
|
|
 David Hewlett recently announced on his new movie website (ADogsBreakfastMovie.com) that his fiancee, Jane Loughman, was pregnant. The couple had decided to keep the news private early to be protective of their new family member and kept the news within family and close friends. They also thank the fans for being so understanding and supportive.
So a big Congratulations to them and best of luck with their new baby Hewlett (If he/she is anything like their father they will need it!)
Now, let's talk babies. I have got to say that I'm so impressed and honored by how respectful you have all been about this. I wish I could say the same about some of my co-workers;-) We've not been actively hiding the fact that Jane is pregnant, but we decided, early on, to keep this news private. In fact, outside of work, we've only mentioned it to family, and very close friends! We are obviously very happy and excited and perhaps a bit over protective of our new addition. Jane and I both thank you again for letting us have this aspect of our lives for ourselves.

| Amanda Tapping Explains Stargate: Continuum

 Stargate: Continuum finished Filming almost a month ago and Dreamwatch SciFi catches up with Amanda Tapping who portrays Lt. Colonel Samantha Carter in the upcoming DVD Movies Stargate: The Ark Of Truth and Stargate: Continuum - Visit our pages for these movies for Information on them.
Tapping does not talk much about the first Stargate DVD to be released Spring 2008 (Stargate: The Ark Of Truth) however she does talk about the second film (Stargate: Continuum) which is due for release Fall 2008. Here are some quotes from the Interview.
Amanda talks about her experience in the Arctic while filming Stargate: Continuum
You filmed Stargate: Continuum in the Arctic. Can you talk about that experience?
It was unbelievable. We lived on a moving ice flow with a kerosene heater and six bunks. We chipped our own ice to make water, worked in a minus 58 degrees Fahrenheit, sludged through wind, hail and all manner of weather.
And when it was over, I did not want to leave. If not for coming back to my daughter, I would have been happy to stay there another week. It was really beautiful. Ben and I had these weird moments walking on the frozen ocean. We are really far away from anyone and there is a guy you can see off in the distance with a gun in case a polar bear comes up. That was a real threat. We are laughing and thinking, “How many actors get the chance to do this? And how many actors would take the chance to do it?” And then the third time the helicopter buzzed over, we laid down, made snow angels, and laughed like school children! It was surreal and beautiful.
As well she talks about her new role in Stargate Atlantis replacing Dr. Elizabeth Weir as commander of Atlantis after Dr. Weir was critically injured during the last episode of Season 3 of Atlantis.
How is your character different in Atlantis?
Well, she’s in command now as opposed to being in Sam’s comfort zone. She now has to make decisions that affect thousands of people. She now has to prove herself as a leader of an entire base and, of course, her style is she doesn’t want to * anyone off. She’s coming into a situation on Atlantis, where there is a lot of heartache. They’ve lost one of their very dear leaders. I think they are reluctant to welcome someone new at first, and then, of course, it turns out to be Sam Carter, which is good for some people and not so good for others.
She has to tread lightly, but part of her command - at least the way I have chosen to play it - is that she relies entirely on the strength of the people around her. She understands Sheppard’s military expertise and, even though she may have the same amount of military expertise, it is not in this galaxy. She has never fought the Wraith before so she defers to Sheppard a lot. She defers to McKay and his scientific expertise in the Pegasus Galaxy. And then Teyla and Roan are complete unknowns to her, so she really has to make her way with them. It is a lot different. The relationships are very new and fresh. Jewel Staite is on the show now as the doctor so there is this neat friendship there between the two characters.
